As I was passing by the canal, I approached a serene face sitting nearby, wanting to take a photo. We chatted for a bit. Ilham Shakirov, 54, had set up his tent under the bridge, dedicating 41 years of his life to fishing. Every year, eagerly awaiting the season, he takes his tent and embarks on fishing trips. This time, he had been out for 58 days, exhaustion evident in his eyes, sweat dripping from his forehead. Sometimes, when talking to people, I realize how vastly different the world’s perspectives can be, seeing those who haven’t experienced the joys that wealth and possessions cannot bring, and at times, encountering those who find happiness in every little feeling and hope. There’s still hope to live on.
